As you are no doubt aware, one of the major social determinents of health is the socio-economic status of your patients. And one of the major issues preventing compliance with doctor's prescriptions is the inability of purchse the medications, supplies, and/or equipment. As someone who is very familiar with the benefits in Alberta, as well as not-for-profit funders, I can help your patients ensure that all available benefits and programs are in place for their families.
For new Canadians, there are many processes and steps within these processes that must be completed in order for them to ensure that they receive all the benefits that are due to them federally, provincially at at the civic level. Awareness of these programs and the processes to obtain them enables me to help our newest residents to achieve their goals for their family.
